DJ and Live Music for your Event

Hiring a DJ and live music for your event is a brilliant idea. The versatile and cool combination is really perfect for corporate events but also excellent for weddings and private parties.

Sometimes our clients when enquiring ask why this is better than just hiring a DJ? There are a few reasons, but we think the most crucial ones are -

- It's less typical than just a DJ and stands out for being more unique, fun and interactive.

- The musician is on the dance floor playing which both encourages guests/attendees to dance, is more fun and allows for a whole load of highly Instagrammable photos. Think electric violinist with an LED-lit electric violin, playing and swaying with your guests, as one example.

- You get the best of both worlds - live band and top quality DJ. Putting them together is highly effective.

So how will the evening flow? Well, of course that's partly up to you and no 2 events are exactly the same. Seamlessly is what you'd want. When you hire a DJ and live musicians, a typical format is that the DJ plays more chilled tunes to start. And the musician(s) play along. They are so skilled that they're able to improvise beautiful lines of music over the tunes played by the DJ. This works really well during a drinks reception or sit down dinner.

Then when you want the fun dance part of the evening, the DJ and live music will ramp up the tempo. More dance floor fillers that will energise the crowd so they can really have a great boogie. This will carry on for a couple of more sets with the musicians. Then they'll finish and the DJ will take over until the last dance. This is a tried and tested formula that works smoothly and wins over most crowds.

In terms of instruments, there is electric violin, sax, trumpet, percussion, and even singers. How much or little you add with the DJ is up to you.
