String Quartet at the Royal College of Physicians for a Medical Conference
We’ve recently worked with Mark Allen Group on a medical conference in the historic Royal College of Physicians. This is a venue that lends itself to an elegant string quartet.
Whilst we provided a number of options to the conference organisers, the string quartet was the most appealing. Our mix of classical, traditional jazz and pop tunes would make the perfect background music for the lively educated minds of various international guests.
Conferences can be quite intensive and when it comes to the evening, live music with refreshments enhances the atmosphere for the attendees to socialise and network together. Live acoustic strings has some advantages. Portable, acoustic instruments mean that it’s easy to move to a different position if needed, without the difficulty of unplugging amplifiers. The music is also highly enjoyable but never intrusive. This is crucial as guests need to be able to talk easily and the music should be a pleasant auditory backdrop, rather than a distraction or disturbance.
The venue itself has some great acoustics. We were playing in the Council Chamber recently but have played in other rooms - such as a dinner in the Osler Room.
Our clients definitely appreciated the mix of classical and pop. We got some applause for the Bach Brandenburg concerto no. 3 and some other tunes in our repertoire. Whilst background music never requires any formal appreciation, it’s always welcome feedback for the musicians so that they know the music is being enjoyed.
Get in touch with us to discuss the corporate entertainment you require for your conference or event - whether a string quartet or a DJ with live musicians, we have it covered.
