“Just to say that the musicians were really great on Saturday night and I’m not just talking about their wonderful playing. They were absolutely the right combination and mood for our party in Burgh House! A lot of our guests commented on them and asked me where I’d found them.” (Maggie Ainsworth, Party at Burgh House)
Here at Liquid Strings, we offer jazz bands for hire in London and the surrounding regions, such as Surrey, Hampshire and Kent. We offer a great range of jazz acts including solo jazz artists, instrumental, 1920s, Swing, Gypsy, Dixieland and Latin Jazz bands, as well as jazz Big Bands for events of all kinds.
Maybe you want to hire a cool jazz singer and band, a slick jazz quartet or perhaps a jazz crooner? Live jazz is timeless – whether traditional or modern – and it can work well in so many types of event. From weddings and parties to product launches and corporate events, the inclusion of a live jazz act or group will more than justify the hire cost. For weddings, jazz wedding music can be incorporated smoothly into the champagne reception, the wedding breakfast or the time between the meal and the evening dance. Sometimes a jazz duo or jazz trio is all you need to hire. For larger events in big venues, a jazz quartet or other larger band may be required.
In between the formality of classical music and the drum-led sound of pop music, a live jazz band offers a very particular, unique atmosphere to an event. It’s informal and can get toes tapping but not make anyone feel obliged to dance (although some may well do!). Our jazz musicians have played with top names in jazz and in some fantastic venues – both in London and New York, which are two of the best live jazz cities in the world. Their experience and love of this music means that they always play with pleasure and this enjoyment is very infectious.
Jazz adds a timeless and cool atmosphere to any event, as well as some Hollywood glamour. It’s great entertainment for champagne receptions, corporate dinners, events in hotels and also private parties – whether at home or a hired venue.
We have jazz bands that can play acoustically for smaller events or bring a small or medium sized PA for larger events with more guests (or plug into an existing one at your venue if there’s one there). So the level of volume required will dictate whether a PA is required and we can help with this. Sometimes our bands bring a small PA just in case as there are events that start quietly and then increase in volume during the evening.
We’ve hired jazz bands for events in venues such as the Royal Academy of Arts, the Savile Club in Mayfair, the Cavalry and Guards Club, Home House, Burgh House, Pembroke Lodge and several others in London and the surrounding areas. Always happy to help you match the type of jazz with the type of event you’re having, we can advise on whether a solo jazz musician may be more effective than a large New Orleans style band or a Blue Note style jazz club band could be the perfect icing on the cake of a stylish cocktail reception. We love to help with matching the right kind of music to any particular event and the range of options we have makes this easy. Not every act we work with is listed on our website, so please do ask if there’s something you’re looking for that is not immediately visible. With our extensive contacts and great relations with professional jazz groups, we can try and make your vision come alive. We also guarantee availability and work only with professional jazz musicians.
