Wedding Music at the Savile Club
When Kathryn and Richard first contacted us about their wedding music in the Savile Club, they seemed to have a fairly clear idea of what they wanted. We spoke to Kathryn on the phone and she seemed interested in having a string quartet and a band or DJ for the dance part later. It seemed with space being a bit tight and a lot of guests, that a DJ would work best. However, they wanted some time to think about it. We've provided wedding music in the Savile Club for a few years so it's always a pleasure to revisit the Club. We enjoy our relationship as a recommended supplier there.
Our wedding string quartet was chosen based on playing some light classical music as guests arrived, and a mix of jazz and pop for the drinks reception. Since this is what we specialise in, it seemed a great fit.
Later on, they decided that a DJ would work best and were interested in booking Guy. He has years of experience working in the London Clubs and knows the Savile Club well. They wanted a quick chat with him about the kind of music and so we arranged a phone call. Following this, Kathryn contacted us to make the booking of the quartet and Guy. This is all done via a booking disclaimer and booking fee.
Then Covid struck and the wedding had to be postponed - twice in fact. Finally this lovely couple got the go-ahead for a Saturday in August. Needless to say, the wedding went perfectly. Kathryn chose 'For Your Eyes Only' for the Entry music as she came down the staircase in a beautiful dress. One of the joys of providing our services is meeting clients and getting a glimpse into their lives. It turns out the Kathryn is a brilliant master tailor! She has her own fabulous shop on Brook Street, very close to the Club itself. Richard's suit was perfect, as might be expected!
We also meet some fantastic fellow suppliers and special thanks to Adam Duke for his fabulous photographs, one of which is featured here. Adam covers weddings, portraits, corporate events and more. We were delighted to meet him on the day and loved his totally professional but friendly approach.
The string quartet delivered for the wedding ceremony and the reception. The weather was perfect for playing outside on the terrace for the reception, and we belted through lots of pop songs in a kind of modern day Bridgerton setting. Everyone was immaculately turned out, drinking champagne and cocktails (what a superb choice!). It was one of best atmospheres we've ever played in. We've really missed performing in live events (Zoom is not the same!). So it was a real buzz to be playing again to an appreciative group of lovely folk as well as a beaming Bride and Groom!
DJ Guy was well-received in the evening and Kathryn and Richard even very kindly invited us as a string quartet to stay and have a couple of drinks on them after we finished playing! We wish this delightful couple all the very best in their new lives together and thank them for their very kind words below.
'Many many many thanks. The music could not have been better. The quartet and Guy, everyone did an amazing job and we're beyond happy. All the guests commented on how beautiful the quartet were and you guys moving outside was just brilliant and really made that hour+ on the terrace so much more magical.'
